This is 09:00 in Amsterdam. A journalist in New York, five hours behind Amsterdam, receives the same embargo request. The embargo is a professional courtesy, not a law.

The journalist agrees to it to get early access to the story. PR-Dashboard states that its database covers 'virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders', so a press release sent through De Perslijst reaches the right journalists with a clear embargo instruction.

How does a time zone difference affect a Dutch press embargo in 2026?
